Welcome to forum Newbie. :biggrin:

 

As a starter rope, you can't beat Yale XTC. Virtually bomb proof and will last you a long time if looked after properly. Excellent value for the price.

 

And unless you're going to be climbing "big" trees often, (doubtful), then 37m is plenty long enough.

Hi what climbing rope would be good for a new climber and what length

 

All depends on if you are up apple trees or red woods if you see what I mean . No body wants to lug more rope than they need but no body wants to be short ...

Personally I climb with a shorter rope as it's easier to pull about and manage ,I have a 45 m but have probably only used it 5 times last year its a pita to manage if you don't need the length. I take a second rope any way so will install that lower down and switch over if extra length is needed but the trees around here are not massive!
