Steve, just bought the Osmo oil, in your opinion would you apply with a lint free cloth or use a brush? Ive got a few planed and dry pieces of wood, olive, apple, sycamore and walnut?? Cheers

Steves said to me just to apply it with some tissue paper give it 5 mins and wipe off, apply again etcetc bud

depends what your applying it to....

i use it for my skittle pins just as a finishing oil to make them look a little better than bare wood. i make sure that the wood is sanded down so 360 or a worn 240 and give it a buff with its own shavings then i apply the oil with a cheap disposable brush and take off the excess with more shavings and spin at speed until superficially dry.

i have used it on a skittle ally deck made of hard maple and i merely gave it as thin coat with the disposable brush and made sure there were no pools of it to wipe off and just left it there. it dried for the next few hours and they played with it that week.

if you are to use it for furniture rather than turning then i recommend that you ask steve slack (slackbladder) as he will know more about the best ways to use it than me.

On a flat surface I like to apply with a rag, on a rough surface a brush. I find if you apply with a brush you end up taking more off with the rag afterwards which is wasteful.

Either application method, apply, then leave 10 mins or so and wipe off with a clean rag then buff up with another clean rag.
