Around three grand will get you a particulate filter fitted allowing access to the LEZ. You then have to get the emissions tested by VOSA once a year.

They carry between 2000-2250kgs I have been thinking about down rating one to 3.5 ton otherwise I need a c/c1+e

 

That's a good idea. That way you can still carry 2.5t plus of wood chips but the cops think you're within the limits cos the plate says so.

That's what all us Transit drivers do, Innit!

A friend was pulled by vosa recently for being overloaded. The guy that pulled him recommended down rating a larger vehicle because a vehicle being dangerous and loaded beyond the manufactures spec is deemed to be a much more serious offence than the registered limit being breached.?? Off the record obviously! Take that with a pinch of salt though and I guess it depends on degree.
