Doesn't seem any worse really. I don't take much notice of that to be honest. Il get one of the boys on another 346 tomorrow and see how they go

Ah, so you are the proud new owner of the ported 346XP, hope you are finding it nice:thumbup:

Anybody know how to disable the limiter? Have been felling on the highways tonight, ringing up an ash.

It took a few minutes for the autotune to get its crap together. Goes like stink! But under 10" and the limiter kicks in (14.2k rpm), after that it drops to a manageable speed, about 15-18" and it drops to the usual 8-12k rpm. Not much fun having logs catapulted towards you though! I'm surprised how strong it runs, as I was quite conservative with the porting compared to the Americans, but I suppose that's because they're running 28". At least the autotune means I don't have to piss around with a tach!

Think the limiter is the blue coil . Dont know if any of the U.S. guys run with a black coil ?

The black coils were usually from earlier models before the limiters became widespread or were aftermarket ones.

Shame this software can't disable the limiter...or can it:sneaky2:

If the limiter is in the coil and the software controls the carburettor it can't disable it. If you speed it up too much you'll need steel trousers. :D

The software cannot alter the ignition limiter, the limiter is within the ignition unit itself, it is set at 14055 strange number but hat it is should be.
