Any feedback on one of your ported 357s v a 560 ? . You got my pms on the 357 and the 460 you did for me ? . That 357 is heading on 14 months of almost solid use , just seems to be my favourite saw and comfortably my most efficient , not to mention the sound is just so cool and distinctive .

The 460 is a seriously strong saw too and literally unstoppable on 20 inch bar , its a perfect medium hardwood firewood saw .

Put it this way ive a 261 hasnt put 50 tanks through it from new and a 661 hasnt put 40 through from new cos your saws are first choice .

 

Thanks Patrick, glad to get an angle on the fact that the ported saws are standing up well to serious use and that they are always the "Go To" saw, seems it is often the case:thumbup:

 

I tested a ported 560 against my 357XP that is far from standard, there are vids on Youtube and my 357XP had the edge on the 560 but the 560 had some serious damage on it that I had to sort plus my 357XP is running a pop up piston and some other tricks under it's top housing:thumbup:

560 is running a beast now it's run in Steve with enough compression to wreck the starter pull housing on it as it's just done.

Just changed the bottom carb mount as there was possibly a slight air leak and I think potentially another identified , 560 is a pita to strip but I think I could do it blind folded now !! but I would like to give your 357 another run ! Its handling a 8 pin 15" 3/8 with total authority ... I'm gonna drop my 576 at the dealers for a check up as I'm convinced it's over fuelling ... Or it's just a dog in comparison to the 560's if it's the latter you fancy having a go on that as it needs a bit of livening up ?

Glad that saw is still going, from what I found and the damage it had, it should have remained under your bench but just goes to show what can be done and how much you can actually get away with.

 

576 - drop it down if you want it done but not before the end of this month as I just have too much on.

 

My 357 could do with a few hours on it to bed it in, I barely use it and the 066 is done but not even tried it yet, just don't get the chance!

Just open up the exhaust, not worth doing any porting on it TBH!

Been porting again, can't keep a good man down:thumbup: Did a MS201 muffler mod, carb derestrictor and ignition advance. Much more Whizz now.
