We had 3 assessments, first one was yard based, vehicle checks, equipment checks, (lights, signs, cones in good order), then set out a site in the yard, put signs out, lights up, cone off, etc then take it all off in right order to show you know what your doing before the next `live` assessment out on the road.

The next one we had to draw up a plan of the site and what signs and equipment was needed, check council streetwork paper work in place, make a loading list, check the vehicle again load up in the right order for unloading, go to the site set it all up, show how you would clean cones, and change battery's in the road lamps, then take it down again.

The last one was the same idea as the last but instead of traffic lights it was set up for stop/go boards.

This was for a sector scheme 12 (I think) modules T1 & T2

Multi phase lights are an other classroom day, and assessment.

I did the C&G unit 10, so supervisors course. All done in a day, extra written exam at the end but otherwise the same course as the other guys in the room who were doing the operatives unit.

Classroom in the morning, setting out exercise in a car park, written test and done for 4 o'clock.

I did it in one day...yes it was boring, no I didn't learn anything I didn't already know..but the instructor was a good egg and got us all through the day without falling asleep :)

almost as pointless as my MEWP course....bits of paper eh? ;)

Any info what the chapter 8 assessment is like? Just booked mine thought it was just a one day course. But its one day teaching and second day assessment? Over £200 bucks as well.

Check to see if it includes your supervisor ticket as well, it's an exam but it's worth the pain just to get the operator and supervisor done in a oner!
