Best bar/ bar size for husky 338xpt

Hi guys just got a husky 338xpt from a friend and want to get the best out of it , it has a oregon 12" pro 91 on it at the moment

Leave it on the 12", the 335 and 338 like to hit decent revs before hitting the wood- similar to the MS201 in this respect and the smaller bar will help it to maintain revs in the cut.

 

That's my opinion for what it is worth!

Alot of people have a downer on 338s but on a smaller bar there an ok saw.

 

Pity about the plastic plug cover that falls off and electrocutes you.

Didn't think the last production run of them was too bad 39cc and 2.3 hp and 1lb lighter than a 201 .!! Unfortunately they never got over the stigma of the the 335 and early 338's that clearly was deserved but Got sick of 200t carbs going on critical jobs every 6 months so gave one a go and was relatively happy until it got stolen , apart from its some what brittle plastics and the electrocution from worn ht lead with broken cover bit! It was not a bad little saw.
