When to go hospital

This morn I done something to my neck. It hurts unlike anything I have EVER felt, been in bed all afternoon unable to move due to extreme pain, diazepam hasn't touched it.

 

Can just lay on my back, and even then I just get very sharp very intense pain.

 

Just felt like I caught it. Then stupidly I went out on lifeboat exercise....

 

Got a hot water bottle on it now and I'm about to drown myself in some more pills.

 

I'm not one that goes to the docs much as I just tend to get on with it.

 

Think I need to go hospital....

 

Did you get it sorted ?

 

My neck seized up in me a few years ago, it was a muscle that went from my shoulder and up the neck, I went to hospital and was given a ibuprofen prescription which sorted it after a few days but it still flares up 2 or 3 times a year.

 

I thought diazepam was for anxiety and the likes, not a pain killer.

i am using a ibuprofen gel. plus i get a massage from the missis.

 

it is better. but no gone docs as they cant get me an appointment, the walk in centre at dover is only manned by nurses, so will not get a pain relief from them.

 

the diazapam was given to me when my back went last year, i didint take many so took some last night. helped me sleep but thats about it.

 

its dying off slowly today. will find out tomoz.

Ostiopath is great, my last neck seize was all caused from my back being siezed up on the opposite side, I'd had a few heavy days chipping big with the Mog, 1 sided dragging and feeding!

Go to osteopath or whatever they are called.

I had the same as you, that is how I fixed it.

Doctors will only ever give you pain killers, that doesn't fix it.

My Mrs. suffers with her neck, just before christmas was the worst ever, she had a slightly stiff neck and a little bit of pain so went to the osteopath, the normal woman she sees was away so had the locum, by the time i drove her home she was in agony, and so took her to see the doctor. He prescribed ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant plus full x rays and scans of the neck and shoulders. She also has physio on prescription to try and strengthen the effected area. The french make a balls of most things, but the health care here is fantastic, 1 hour from phoning the doc to beeing seen, straight into x ray within 15 mins of seeing the doc, pick up meds on the way out.

 

Seems the osteopath was a bit keen and made it worse. Normally very good tho.

Ah yes Diazepam is prescribed to help you sleep i think, glad to hear its easing, mine was awful for a couple of days but it slowly relaxed and I now always keep cuprofen to hand for when it flares up

I was talking to a friend last night and his doctor had changed his way in thinking in so much as men need to really look after themselves in their 40's and 50's. Once you get past those years it's relatively plain sailing after that.
