Trailer test update.

If they bring it in top of the list should be caravans. Left to rot and seize for 11 months of the year then dragged 400 miles down a motorway overloaded in a heat wave. Plant trailer used once a week by people in tune with their kit and over made when new. Both would benefit from a simple test nightmare for me as at times we have up to 16 trailers.

Fair observation!

MOT for trailers will be no different than a truck / car not worth the paper there writer on only good for the day there write, wheel bearing can go day/days after, light bulb fail with in hours, and so on.

If you got 1 trailer or 20 no different than having that many truck they all need MOT'S.

it doesnt matter what anyone says, or wants, its coming, the eurocrats want it, and our spinless "leaders" will bring it in, doesnt mater that no other european country does, look at the CPC requirement for hgv drivers, really hapenining in the rest of europe isnt it!!, so start getting your trailers, caravans, and anything else you tow up to a good standard of roadworthyness, or its gonna cost !!

Fair enough point as KJ says as well. Caravans can be a pain on the roads, I suppose a portion are run like this by numpties with no savvy, but on the other hand Iv'e seen many others in driveways and on storage sites with wheels taken off for security(which anybody with any numption could test before fixing the wheels on) and other fastidious preparations taking place before "The big Weekend"

I suppose these regulations like most will effect everyone, due to the those that create risk.

What will happen is if this is adopted then your chippers will require the same test even under 750kg in time. It's not about safety it's about funding the European empire.

They have even proved the uk has low accidents, similar results to a country with the test.

Tail lights should not require an mot when a total buck tard knows how to keep them legal and police already enforce it.

Next your chainsaws will be excluded from the low emission zone because they are the problem not the thousands of tons of spent aviation fuel being dumped on our houses.

Good point maybe trailers under 750kg excempt would be a good idea. A small trailer or caravan is easier to control if it lets go.
