Emergency Callout Charge (again)

Recommended Posts

Is this defiantly you Stevie?? or has your account been hacked?????:confused1:

A few years back this would have been a £500 job for you

If it was too fell a 100ft Sitka beside a house in the storm, I'd happily charge £500 for an hours work, if there is risk and skill involved, it takes years to learn such tasks.

As for a job that took 2 drunk guys 45 mins :sneaky2::lol:

Im with you on this. I wouldn't go sticking silly high call out prices on a simple small job, if it was me and in my local village id prob just do it at normal rates might add abit extra on for getting socked and dragging me out off the warm.

I wouldn't use a chainsaw if I was drunk. Nor would I employ someone who was.

I am of course assuming you didn't do it with a Silky.

You said you'd had a few, I take that to mean you were over the limit. Drunk driving is against the law for a good reason.

I didnt say i was drunk, I said i'd had a few. Massive difference.

100 metres from my driveway to the track that leads to the manor. Criminal.

No worries fella hope gave you a guide as to what sort of price to be charging next time you get a call out.?Also be careful in the future how and what you posts on here next time as you never quite know what response you might get. It's all good banter but sometimes a simple answer to a question is.t always the one you want to hear or get.

Yet for some reason unknown to me he chose to share that information in addition to asking the question about the price for the job

I thought id set the scene a bit steve, make a little story out of it as some early morning light reading. Makes for better reading than just ' how much should i charge for this?'

Then why mention it ?

You mention something in your post you open it up for debate.

I personally would not go out on call out after drinking, it's irresponsible to say the least. It also is not just about him, it's about being in a fit state of mind to protect the public, people around him and their property.

Ps. Even if a builder or any tradesman turned up at my house to do any type of job smelling of beer I,d sack him there and then

I personally am not one to turn down work. The client isnt one to hang around. If id said 'sorry i cant do it till the morning' she would have got another firm to do it there and then. I wouldnt be able to afford a fresh pair of Zermatts if i carried on like that.

Thats your opinion, I dont see much harm in operating a chainsaw after a few pints, for 5 minutes, to do 3 cuts on a piddly little tree on my neighbours secluded private drive. The only person at risk was myself and ive been in a lot more dangerous situations than that. Its not as if i was clearing a tree for the Highways off my face, that would obviously be irresponsible.

Dont know about you but my beer goes in my mouth, not down my front.
