Apparently the sole can be replaced if you do it before it wears through tho the grey mid sole.

 

I've heard that aswell but its the grey mid sole that's knackered. Bummer

They may still be fixable by a good cobbler. I wore mine on the same place by using my foot to scrape the floor near the chipper ie like a rake!!

There's a place that does Meindles. Gemmells. We had three pairs done through Rich at Treetools. Completely rebuilt the sole on a pair that were four years old. We had to send one pair back because the glue didn't take but all in all they did a really good job.
