Is this the same as the Atkins diet that people went mad on several years ago?

Atkins principal is pretty much the same, converting the energy the body uses from glycogen (Sugar, carbs) to body fat- look up ketosis.

Did you add mustard to the eggs?

No, but I added some Butch T scorpion chilli powder! :laugh1:

I've just had chopped broccoli in butter, with garlic, pepper and a sprinkling of grated cheese on top. Awesome. :thumbup1:

I thought dairy wasn't allowed in the paleo diet?

Just bought a recipe book about this yesterday so am going to start trying this out. I feel terrible after a couple of weeks of alcohol and bad food over Christmas...

Sky Huck, double check whether baked beans are permitted, not sure they are.

Also as a treat dark chocolate of 75-85% cocoa is 'permissible'

No dairy, although I have splash milk in my tea.

The best way to go about it I found was read up on the effects of bread, white rice and pasta and potatoes on the digestive system. Once you grasp that you will genuinely not have any interest in them again, and will view it as a lifestyle change and not a fad diet.

You can get the same type of carbs from all your vegetables, you just have to eat more of them which is hard to find fault with. If you can cook veg and at worse microwave a sauce of some sort. Worlds your oyster.

If you do it proper you hit carb flu after two week, it's memorable fun. Not!!
