ash does seem to suck the oil from the chain,wonder sometimes if my saw is oiling properly

Put it in the oven at 180 for 25 minutes. Make sure product is piping hot before serving.

Soak in parrafin

Then scrub with plastic brush

Soak over night

Hi Normandy - I clean my chains in drain cleaner (orange bottles from the pound shop - sodium hydroxide ) -soak for an hour in an old compost bin I keep for the purpose - - then rinse thoroughly clean, oil and refit.

I have ocd and cant help but clean everything, even tools that really don't need to be kept clean, but cleaning chains has got to be the next level, hopefully I don't get there anytime soon.
