Hypothetical Question Chrismas Day Call Out ?

Just had this call out monster Lime tree uprooted, just cleared the drive way and said we'd be back friday to take her down, as its over top of electric lines so will need the power company on site before we tackle it. My plan of action tractor with 6.5 ton winch, Rope around trunk and pull the hole tree back from the lines.

Once it's away from lines and on the strain of the winch, then what?

We have had no power for 20 hours, no land line and vodaphone came back on line 3 hours ago. Im on about my 23rd emergency call and I'm putting them onto other companies. We did a pretty dodgy euc in the wind yesterday which was probably pushing it. Me and my lads have had a very busy end to the year and are all in holiday mode. No amounts of money is getting me back to work before the new year there are so many companies in Surrey customers won't struggle to find some one.

That and if I go out to work the mrs will go out and never come home!!!

Haha that would be some sight trying to up right it a few straps and as good as new lol. No just pull it down it already snapped the top out of the conifer and should miss the shed its the safest options so im sticking with it.

Money for family/ no money for family

I guess the issue is when earning money always comes first even when the family is well catered for financially. It's a juggling act. As a kid I loved having my dad around at christmas mainly because he loved christmas and he was never happier. It's a great 'family' time of year.

Heres me, one child back from uni with his mates out. The other in Dartford then Leatherhead working on 'emergency' tree jobs. Me on the computer after working all morning on phone calls about fences and trees. Oh well- big night out for all when we come together for bowling with them and friends and a meal so it all works out.

It is a juggling act- just don't start dropping the balls.
