Tree identification

Hi Guys

 

Can anyone help with this tree ident? all i have to go on is;

looks like a Eucalypts, orange flaking bark, serrated leaf, and a white flower in flower now.

Stewartia pseudocamellia, maybe not sure about the flowering though

What country?! If it's the UK it sounds like Arbutus unedo, which typically flowers Oct-Dec.

It might be flowering out of season. I've got rose bushes in flower and both daffodils & spring flowering tulips rising from the soil.

Is it fairly small with the flowers hanging down in racemes like a laburnum? If so, could be Garrya elliptica.

Sounds like Arbutus to me. Strawberry tree.

Is the bark flaking vertically in strips

Are the flowers white "lace caps" hanging down, like an old fashioned lampshade

If so Arbutus undeo

 

If bark peels in small platelets, leaving a dappled bark (like a Plane, but much smaller platelets) it could be Stewartii pseudocamellia

 

An image or three would nail it.

 

Both lovely trees, massively under planted in my opinion
