ms441cm or 576xp autotune?

So called into the husky dealer today, and just my luck he'd sold the 576xp the day before, however he did have a 390xp with 28" bar in store, a little nose heavy but otherwise a nice machine. So now the trouble is I'm still none the wiser what I would feel about the 576xp, but I'm very very tempted by the 390xp so what I'm basically asking here is for someone to make my mind up for me, I know the 390xp. Is a good solid machine but is it gonna be to much saw?

390 will be to much saw for normal felling you will be better off with 576 that will easily run a 24inch bar and I know guys using 28 comfortably. I run my 576 on a 20 and it's fine, anything heavier is an occasional saw only for proper big fells. If your after a 576 I have one for sale if your interested.

A 390 is an awesome saw, I find them fairly light and balanced with 28", I actually own a 385xp, which I have adapted for stihl bars, it is currently sporting a 36" bar which it pulls easily

I recently tried a 461 the other week, i have had a 576 and went wrong, ive got a 372 and a 460 and i was surprised how good the 461 was though it was on a 18 bar, only thing was the handle seemed rather fat!!

 

All depends what your cutting really, all saws mentioned will run up to 25" bar so you have an option if timber your cutting gets bigger, but a 390 will run a 28 or if you want it to fly put a 24" on it

HI STEVE my 461 fly on a 20" bar a 576xp is the same cc size saw but a 390xp like a 660 thanks jon

Spend the extra 60 quid on an XPG the heated handles are worth their weight in gold.
