Use Of Urea to Treat Stumps

I thought this was about getting rid of stumps with "your ear" :-)

Fill an old rinced 5l oil bottle with it. Stab some holes in the lid and shake over the stump until its blue. Do not get it any where near your skin unless you intend to spend a week or so looking like a smurf!

 

That's how I've always done it.... used the pointy end of a file to stab the holes in the lid

try and apply the full stump to dripping off.

 

use a cap with holes to apply and another cap without holes when in transit - no blue truck!

 

definitely worth using if you are on a high risk area.

I use a sprayer like Darrin posted. I think it was a mix of 2kg to ten litres water.

All the information will be on the COSHH data sheet with the product regarding dilution rates. I would suggest a hand sprayer or if many stumps a knapsack. Paint brushes and lids with holes stabbed in tends not to cut the mustard so to speak if your seen these days!

Maybe, but they're still using it in the east midlands.

So cutting for a day then nap sacking at the end of the day is too late. As said above a 3-5l pressurised bottle sprayer will be ideal!

One of the well known Forestry supplies firms can provide the Urea and bottles with a bristle bush to apply. Must be done within minutes of feeling and cover complete stump.
