Got kick back of a saw

You have to give him credit for actually admitting it. If the chain break handle was broken off I would imagine this will affect the reaction time of the break. The inertia of a kick back must to some degree transmit through the handle to the break. If you were a cat you would only have 8 left. I would buy a lottery ticket this weekend.

Think I might do that!!! Just the spring in the brake was broken. Wish I could turn back the hands. But can't cry over spilt milk can I. It's a couple of scares we are men, cheers ashley

Yeah a minor part. Needed to order one. I can't believe what a fool I've been. It's the spring that holds the brake in place! So it's a major bit of the operation. I'm still alive. And hopefully the scaring will be minimal. Although I am hoping for a miracle

Face guards are to stop saw dust and minor bits of wood! That's all! ;( they could be addressed though yes! If my chain brake wasn't broke it would of worked!

An expensive way to learn a lesson in basic procedures like checking your chain brake works before you use the saw, and if it doesn't work getting it fixed before you use it. Not everyone gets away so lightly. Bet your mum and dad gave you hell for the sake of a few quid. The main thing is you will remember this for the rest of your life and are unlikely to repeat it. This is why most of us have more than one saw and can put the non working one to the side and use one that works properly. If you only have one saw it can be tempting to use it as 'its only a wee log and I cant come to any harm'
