good job, well done.

 

bet that lump rocked the boat!!

 

silly question but is all that rigging at the bottom a lowering device? we just put a wrap around the trunk a few times. do they work well? take long to set up. i always figured less links was safer.i.e. just a good lowering rope and fork in the tree. not too old to change though, might be worth a go.

Yes it was all done on a lowering device. I do still use natural forks in the tree and do wraps around the tree but it depends on weight of stuff being lowered, how much lowering ect.

The capstan makes it very easy to control the lowering and very quick to resend the line back up to the climber.
