Don't start derailing the thread with talk of ladders otherwise Skyhuck will be on giving us grief for using 'fairy steps'!

Nope, ladders pretty much always do it for me.

On the occasion that the big shot comes into play I normally get it stuck and have to resort back to ladders.

I am just AWFUL with a throw line.

I virtually never take ladders with me either, unless its a big hedge.

No throw bag, no ladders... Are you an accountant?

If not you must wear really high heels :P

No mate, I'm a climber. Like a proper one, that takes great pride in accessing the tree with out aid of gadgets.

I will throw my rope though.:thumbup1:

Just pulling your leg mate :P

As said, I only use a throw line when I feel it would be quicker than ladders into the crown (not often). Some trees you can chuck a rope over a low branch, but many you just can't. Is this how you do it the majority of the time? I wouldn't have thought it to be very energy or time efficient (for me at least)

If using gadgets will prolong my climbing shelf life then I'm all for it.

It's all about self-preservation

I use whatever is gonna get the job done quicker. Back in the uk it was always a triple extended ladder 99% of the time if I was at the top of a ladder struggling to throw a rope then a throw line would come out but it was rare that I'd throw it. Here it's mostly always throw a rope or climb up as I said I do whatever is quickest to please the boss :)
