Theres a time and a place for drugs and thats not at work.. I am a thai boxer and never been in to drugs ore drink but my friends are weed heads and drinkers so it don't bother me. But if you drink and do drugs at work you opening a can of worms that really should not be opened and it leaves you picking up the pieces when some thing goes wrong and 9/10 time it goes wrong.

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

theres nothing wrong with the forum, just with a few members who are thankfully in the minority. If you don't like this place then please leave without trying to sour it for the good members who take a lot from here, thanks

I wasn't complaining about the forum, but you always get the few who immediately take a moral high ground and everything else is wrong or illegal, but then on the next thread they're importing and porting chainsaws for work, if you understand what I mean

No, but if you're gonna take a moral high ground on something don't contradict yourself, as for importing and porting, both contravene PUWER, therefore making their use in the work place illegal, I should know, all but 1 saw is modified or unbraked.

Drugs are bad, and a definite NO in any work place (this includes alcohol), especially when operating machinery, but to call all users scum and thieves is over the top.

Its not as simple as that by any means, however drug taking is illegal plain and simple, to compare the two is utter nonsense, IMO.

I'm not comparing the two, I'm stating both are illegal (one only in the work place) but for those who take a moral high ground against one whilst doing the other, it's hypocritical to pass judgement in such a negative way as to label people, when they are just as guilty of committing an offence, regardless of if the type of offence is a world apart.

Is it illegal or just advising best practice has anyone been convicted of importing saws or porting? just want to know that's all :001_smile:

No, but who finds out unless there's an accident, there's 92 pages in a subsection on the PUWER thing, and it ONLY applies to saws after 96/97 (there's a big grey area for anything made in 96), I only know this as my dad's girlfriend showed me, pretty boring stuff, as I answered, it doesn't matter if I don't have an accident
