As this goes against point 15 in the PPE section of the revised AFAG 401 leaflet, where for climbing chainsaw users, HSE strongly advise the use of a Mountaineering type helmet conforming to BS EN 12492:2000, then Stevie is quite obviously pulling your leg

I have to agree with Monkeyd not wearing simple ppe (suitable helmet with chin strap) is just mental, If i hadn;t worn such kit when i was training i prob wont be here today.

Never had a chin strap in 15 years of climbing and I only wear a seat belt on the Mway.

Must admit I hate chinstraps, but do use it when I deem it necessary.

 

Red Squirrel - that's a top effort with a Silky, mate. Hope you get it down for good price. Reckon one of the North West lads on here could help you out.
