As title, anyone know of a universal fit stress control for chippers when the manufacturers highly priced version has packed in?

This is something I heard of years ago but can't seem to find anything on the web now.

Never heard of one.

I would guess you could get an electonics wizz to make the circuitry, as long as you can use the speed sensor that is on your machine, the output is just a current to trigger a solenoid.

The in/out wires should all be identifiable in the handbook - as long as you know what revs to set it at. That raises questions about variable settings if its a generic unit.

Find a retired electronics lecturer and this time next year you'll be miwwionaires.

Good luck

Just missed Peter's post - there you go - looks the bizz

The chipper world calls them stress control, probably because it sounds good and specialised but in the rest of the engineering world they are called speed switches

Give it a google

Yeh, you guys are along my thinking. There's literally just a feed, speed sensor, solenoid and preset limits needed. Can't be much more complicated surely?

Off to look at peters link now. Cheers mate.

Peter, that looks like its worth looking into. Cheers.

Mark, as a result of you living "down south" these days, you have forgotten your hardy northern attributes. We still work along with the theory "if it fits in that hole, throw it in"!
