I'm not really sure what the difference is, but the 576xp also is a first generation "strato", which always meant more weight - and only Husky have got out of that "trap" so far.

The AT on the 576xp meant even more weight, on top of it being a 1st generation strato - while the second generation strato saws, with the second generation AT, are lighter than the saws they replaced.

That is a major improvement! :001_smile:

Understood about the extra weight on the first generation saws . That is why I went back to a 372 after trying one for a while . I think the early A/T cant down load so much info about what he saw has done .

You no doubt are right about that! :001_smile:

Got the 576 and 560 and the 560 will out cut the 576. It's a much better setup, picks up quicker and cuts faster. Had the 576 crank go on mine replaced under warranty with new carb but reckon its needs help to increase pickup,it's brilliant in big wood but apart from that the 560 is the better saw.

Watch out the for the main gasket going and chain oil pouring out of the 560, mine went last week had to get another whilst husky fix under warranty. There is a recall bulletin about it and heavy duty gasket being put in. They look really different on the 2011 and 2013 saws.

my advise for a new saw, allways 25-1 first tank to let in run in and leave it to tick over til warm and go steady with it. no other oil will do for these saws other than husqvarna XP fully synth. these machines were designed to run on this oil not any old muck. I see alot of lean seizures because of the wrong oil is used, even stihls red mineral oil is not good enough, and supermarket fuel is a killer. these machines should not be run on more than 10% ethanol, which supermarket fuel can have as much as 25% which is why its even more important to use the husqvarna oil.

Really 25:1 and only XP oil? Personally I dumped the 25:1 mix my dealer put in, and the saw is on aspen now, but stihl red is fine in a saw, as for tick over and gentle use, you get glazed bores and a lower compression! Modern engines are designed to be ran as normal from the word go, if not a new saw would be pointless in our industry, too much down time bedding the saw in!

If the 25:1 was important, neither manufacturer would offer the extended warranty of a saw run solely on aspen either.

The stock .325 15" bar withh H25/21BPX and a 7-pin is way "underkill" on that saw - the saw simply has too much power for it. :001_rolleyes:

Before mine even left the saw shop, it had a 3/8" 16" with H42/73LP setup on it, and it will take a lot more! :001_smile:

ditto i found the same i had it for two weeks on a.325 saw it wasnt cutting to its full potential and i changed it over to 3/8'' 18'' husky bar and chain what a difference unbeleivable :thumbup:

Ours is running a 20" 3/8 Full chisel and although I meant to run the A/T as per the manual we didnt and just used it flat out from the word go.

Runs great and does exactly what we want.

Never had any probs starting from running out of fuel, fuel up, pump primer and start as hot fires more or less first pull.

It allowed me to put a 30" on the 046:001_smile:

I think you have been drinking ethanol.

Godda disagree pretty much totally here . Use mineral oil for the first tank full to let the rings bed in . then go to synth . 50:1 Rag it from the off . Dont let it sit idling for a tank full they need to be worked hard strait away . If you let sit ticking over the A/T wont set properly . just me ......:001_smile: Oh agree about ethanol . The less you have of that the better .
