I have never dabbled in selling SW but am more then likely going to start offering it.

I have heard Larch is a good start, would be keen to know more from sellers experiences what sells well and what doesnt etc.

All main species sell quite well for me. I sell Larch, Pine, Sitka Spruce, Norway spruce Douglas fir etc.. About 70% of the softwood is Larch that's just because its cheap and available on the doorstep.

Softwood is so much easier to process, it dries quicker and far cheaper to get hold of when compared to hardwood

I sell leylandii stems unprocessed as cheap firewood if they want to cut and split them themselves, never had a complaint. £60 a tipper load delivered locally. leaves me plenty of room in the yard for decent hardwood:thumbup:

Ive burnt lots of Scots pine for the last few years, doesn't take long at all to season, gives good heat but does spark a lot as it has quite a bit of sap in it.

I sell mostly softwood, probably 90%. Most species burn just fine, I don't see the hang up that most people have with selling softwood, I sell at least 100 ton of it a year. Larch especially burns really well.
