Unicender Video

Seen pics of this device before and didn't like the look of it. Now that I've seen the vid I'm thinking it looks pretty good.

 

Would really need to try one before I passed judgement though. Anyone here use the Unicender? What happens if you climb up onto a branch and create slack in the rope? will the cams grip automatically when you lean back onto the line or do they need adjusting before weight is applied?

would you use it for anything other than ascending though..? Am I right in saying some people on here climb exclusively with mechanicals like the lockjack etc.?

That's a good question. It seems to be a good design and it's nice that there's no internal cams to replace on it.

isnt it designed to really work well on single line work? descent and ascent with no switch over?
