Vehicle dilema?

Do you need a crew cab or would you rather have cupboards/lockers? The question is how many people do you usually take to a job? If its more than two/three then you could always ask them to meet you on site (depending if there employed or self employed) or you could take two vehicles to each job as the little jimmy/fourtrack won't cost a lot to run. Alternativey you could get a crew cab pick up, ranger, hilux, L200 etc and take your work force to the jobs in that and then have your truck with lockers/cupboards for two, your kit and the Logs/chip etc. Decisions decisions!!

Keep what you got on the bigger jobs take a tipping trailer behind fourtrak tow chipper behind vw 2 tonne in trailer 1.3 tonne in vw

 

Seems a sensible low cost option to me.

 

As Treefrog says it all depends on how you work.

 

My DC Transit works for me most of the time, but sometimes I'm crying out for a 4x4 that can carry load, but I've never fancied the mog or similar route.

I miss the capacity of my old transit but I don't miss the long brash drags because I couldn't get a vehicle to the tree I would rather drive 10 mins to nearest tip site then spend hrs dragging brash to the chipper. Thought about a mog and rb44 and fantasied about the new 4x4 Iveco but the budget doesn't quite go that far!

 

Thought about a transit county tipper but have never ever seen one! Even thought about trying to build one on a transit county chassis and running gear but then that's fantasy as well as theres not enough hours in the day!!

 

Looked for a vwT4 crewcab Syncro Tipper but found rocking horse poo and still no Vw!!

 

Contemplating tipping trailer behind the Daihatsu as that is realistic, contemplating a chip box on a Landy with tipping chipbox but not sure about the capacity or I could just go old snily face transit with ply greedyboards and the Daihatsu and trailer!!

 

Thing is I've seen so many friends spend a fortune changing vehicles in the quest to find the perfect one or combination and I'd rather spend hours working out than spending £££££'s on a fruitless search!!:lol:

Sex on a Stick Dan, drive good as well.

A petrol one LPG'ed should be affordable too.

Absolutly wonderfully engineered.

Having driven one through the tracked vehicle off road course at War and Peace (Beltring) then hammered it down the County Road.

It felt perfectly at home in either environment, and solid and quiet, with slick gearbox and diff-lock controls.

I want!!
