Pretty desiccated

 

Did you look below it to determine if it has the remnants of pores or gills?

 

A guess would be Ganoderma resinaceum.

But it could quite easily be Meripilus giganteus.

But nothing really in the shots to be sure about.

I agree it doesn't look like meripilus - don't know what it is

 

I have seen Meripilus take on that sort of form, it too had to push its way up through a thick poly black membrane which was covered with gravel. It did then after a few weeks develop into the more typical form.
