Hedging stakes

Small story wont bore you all with it.

 

had phone call today from someone I know, there family members involved with some charity (not in the hedging circle's at all) wants to know how many split chestnut (and the word they used sounded like STAYED, STAID !!!!!!! didnt get & not sure on spelling, Im sure they mean stakes) but any how

Its for some hedge thing all a bit vague as we don't use em down ere

 

but how many split chestnut stakes/stayed/staid would you get for £500 and what distance would that cover in say Midland/SoE if that what there for:confused1:

they didnt say anything about binders/heatherings

 

sure someone has an answer thanks.

 

What ever the answer will be, Im sure he will come back with another question.

so out of interest what would say 10m's worth cost and they can "times X " it from that and work it out from there for ball park fig,

 

is it about 4 per 3m/10foot

 

Is split chestnut used ???? thought it was mainly hazel :blushing:
