Going to look at a s/h one. Don't need it but are there any weak points to this saw I should be looking for? Do they have a good reputation? Thanks.

I have one and have had a couple of 394 as well . Stonking saw as far as I can tell . Does not get used a great deal but totally reliable when it comes out .Mine runs a 36" .404 no problems . :001_smile:

It is an older basic design, and suffer from that in some ways - but those that have them usually like them a lot. However, there are many that prefer the lighter and more modern 390xp. I guess the choise really depends on what you are going to use the saw for.

I don't have one, so this is based on what I have read on different saw forums the last decade +.

Had a look at the saw. Extremely clean with a 30" bar so it's mine now:001_smile:

I think you will be well pleased . They respond to a muffler mod and also porting . Spud did one not long ago .
