Ok, so all this talk of fitting this engine to make it a good pruner, correct me if I'm wrong, but the idea here is to pay 600 quid for the initial pruner, throw the engine away and spend another 350 quid on a real engine?

Have I missed something?

Just try an echo.....if you were more local i'd say try mine

Cheers matty, I think I'm going to have a word with my dealer and see if they will supply one at a good rate. They're echo dealers but seem to only sell hedge cutters in a big way, they only have the husky and stihl in stock, hence the thread.

Funny how it seems no one has the husky!:001_huh:

only states yr looking for 1, for all i know you could have 1, thats not working hence why yr looking for a new 1,the engine idea was to save you a few quid , :001_smile:

It was my idea first with an FS-70 and copyright :001_tt2:

Seriously, will the FS-240 just drop on (ie. is it inch tube)? I did consider it but it looked slightly different plus it was a lot[/b more expensive.

FS-70 is plenty of power for me so far, particularly as I can have two for the price of one FS-240.

The engine swap is a cheap fix for all those suffering 4-mix problems.
