Nice one, I once drove 3Km to our local dechetterie (recycling & tip) whilst chatting to the chap who runs it, noticed half a cup of tea on the rear bumper of our Disco, still warm as well!

Went out with a load of logs and stopped a mile down the road for diesel. As i undid the filler cap noticed my mug of tea on top of the logs on truck.

Dear old Aunt Lucy, insisted on re-filling and re-boiling the kettle, to freshen up the tea pot.

For this very reason.

Insisting 40 year ago that twice boiled water was not as good as freshly boiled water for making tea.

Which also tasted better out of a Porcelain cup, but only if the milk was poured first.

This from a woman reared in a hovel in Co. Cavan.

Well if she was from Cavan I'm sure she was a wise woman......

Also Lyons tea bags are the best none of that Barry's tea sh@&e

Good to hear you are on the mend.

Sorry I can't help with the water question as not very discerning about my brew.

Ungrateful cow, she just tipped it away!

On the subject of tea, freshly boiled water (discard if its been boiled already) poured over pyramid bags, milk in straight away and leave to stew - DON'T STIR - makes it stronger somehow? Also no sugar. Nothing more refreshing even on a boiling hot day, customers think we're mad when we ask for tea over a cold drink...

now theres and important detail in the picture a coat tover tayyyyyyyy pot thats summat i will have to get a taypot wi a jacketton .As i make mine in a cup no taypot so maybe a better brew but pore it from a great hight thus long brew & put a head on me tay make a frothy one or a taylattay lol

but seriously my logburner makes a far far better brew after using kettle all summer and then changing over etc very noticable". I just had to be carefull as i used the method statment to wipe my arse last year lol so still rusty using said burner makin a brew but got dog here in front of fire to watch over things trying to trip me up i,am sure he,s swallowed a big magnet as hes somehow stuck to the front of the burner as he,s my project manager

Ha! My youngest daughter knitted the jacket for the teapot when I was working away from home and living in a caravan. It makes a big difference too.
