Thanks for that Stubby. one more person not noticing the heating and I will happily assume it was a Friday job, and buy one on a Wednesday to see if that makes any difference.

Mine gets pretty hot, just thought it the nature of the beast, the front of the saw that comprises the oil res has recesses I presumed for both strength and heat dissipation.

Yeah it gets hot .. Don't most saws?? Like I said in atleast 1 540 thread it's not a 200t!!! It will handle ,sound and feel different ohh and get hot different !!
