There's always debate on price and this is the latest. I reckon you have put a day or so on this and priced it accordingly, your competitor reckons they can knock it off in a morning leaving another job in the arvo.

He was possibly a bit hungrier. 'Tis cheap but there you go.

Anyway what do you mean "approx"?[/quote

When I said approx £420 she was pushing for a price before I left so I said approx £420. I have since emailed saying it would be that price.

Sounds like you wasted your time anyway.

On these little jobs I always just figure out the price on the spot, write it out in a duplicate book, rip out a copy and hand it to them.

Obviously on bigger more complex ones you need a bit of thinking time.

Anyhow good luck on the next one:001_smile:

Christ if that's a few hours work am in the wrong trade!!!

Surly though, a job is a job if you are fast, efficient and productive and you can do it in 2 hours or a morning your at benefit as you can charge the price in relation to tree size and situation etc?

I worked in a vw dealer as a mechanic, we had to work to 120% efficiency therefor if vw said a service takes 2 hours and I did it in 1 they still charge the customer for 2.

You may have a 3 or 4 man team therefor you will get it done in no time but then you got more wages to pay!!

Job to tell accurately from the pic but my inclination would be to say £250 - £270 and a morning is all it would take . Chipper right close to the action . Looks like you could fell it toward the camera even ??

Sorry I know it's hard to see pic properly but the stem is on the other side of the wall it leans over the wall into the lane so no felling.

Went to give a price for the complete removal of this!

After realising a phone line runs through it I told her it would be approx £420 chipped up and taken away stump left 50mm above ground, she then went on to say she had a price of £250 of someone!

Do you all think am miles away or is that about right?
