Can a person be charged for ignoring signage and cross barrier tape to complain about tree reduction while aerial operations are being undertaken. According to HSE website any request for advice can take 30 days for response. I would like to know sooner and press charges if that is an appropriate course of action. His intervention and consequent visits from police and council representative prolonged the already extensive period the climbers were in harnesses. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

if you have barriers up and signs saying do not enter and he does and get hurt then his fault. if he is not happy with what you are doing say go to council and lodge a complaint. by the time its gone through the departments jobs done. you must have permission to do job show him papers saying you can and send him off saying have a nice day

why not sleep on it and decide then if you want to cause yourself more hassle

Great Advice John. Was the guy just a bit of a nimby, How much did he Really hold up the works. If the jobs over and the invoice has been raised then forget about it and move on to the next one. Seems like it would be a lot of hassle to get involved with.

You say ex Cop, We had a guy that wanted to come through our works to complain , It was designated footpath with official closure and completley closed off he came through two sections of signs, cones and barriers and i had to stop him from going under a backleaner over the path gobbed out and wedged. People think they have a right to go where they want, when they want. Even if their life is endangered, they dont focus on the big picture and are hell bent on letting you know their opinions.

Let it go :)

Roni, Have you got any more information on what went on? I take it the guy entered your work area and held up the works, if you have any of his contact information you might be able to send him an invoice for lost work time. Not sure if that might put him off.

Was this on a council contract? Are the council giving you any back up? Are you Arb approved?

If he cost you time, Well i dont know how you go about that, But slander... ... has he put it in print?
