Hi, this is probily in the wrong section but im sure you can help with a little advice! At the moment i have a nissan navara king cab 2007, great truck with lots of power but i allways feel that its a little delicate and needs treating with care. On the other hand when something goes wrong on the navara we all ways seem to be saying we should have bought a isuzu, so is the Isuzu rodeo better truck? Sorry but not intrested in L200, Ranger, VW Amorak, Mazda, etc. It will be used for towing a 14ft ifor williams so towing is a factor, although 3tons is more than enough. Looking at a 58 plate Isuzu Denver Max which i really like, looks tough and strong, but looking at the specs the Isuzu is massively under powered compared to the navara:

Navara 2.5 diesel 405nm torque 173hp

Rodeo 2.5 diesel 294nm torque 136hp

Does the difference in power make towing harder in one than the other? Whats your reviews like on these 2 trucks? Does the isuzu on have 5 gears?

cheers for your help

jamie

I got the base spec 08 rodeo and its not bust (yet), despite dragging nr to max load regularly. Has had a clutch kit and rear suspension bushes but I ain't gentle with it. The last dent was from dropping sideways into forwarder tracks and clipping a stump, end result was a dented sill and some fun getting to a hard spot to climb out again.

This is my 2nd Isuzu pick up and unless it out lasts me, i'll probably replace with another Isuzu.

i would love a new dmax but funds dont seem to allow that! Just never liked the others, i would perfer to have a old l200 like a 2005 warrior but they seem to have engine problems at about 80000 miles. Not a fan of fords at all. New l200 body is like a tin can and vw is just a town car. Hilux just paying for a name that was really good years ago... Just after a good truck that can take a bit of abuse, whats the 4wd system like on the rodeo? The navara allways windsup or gets stuck in 4wd or low just when you dont need it to (been stuck across a main road after leaving a wet field because i needed the 4wd to tow the trailer all the way out)
