John Deere have just announced their new PRO47V, not a cheap mower but it should be very good.

It has Die cast Aluminium deck with steel reinforcement, individual height adjusters, AV rubbers on the handles, variable speed and is fitted with a 190cc Subaru engine.

It carries an RRP of £1238.40 inc vat and will be available in the spring.

Honda IZY should be within your budget and decent mowers! We use them all day and they take a hammering from us.

Following all the recomendations on here i went to look at an izzy, but i found them, or the handle to low, causing me to having to "stoop" over it. I'm not tall(5'10")but found them to low for me. I the end i got a 21" rover, to go with the 27yr old(had it from new) 18" rover i already have. Hope it proves to be as reliable.

Hi Rob,

I'm pretty sure you can take the lug out and put it in a different hole near the mower which raises the height I am 6ft 8 and use mine with no stooping?

Thanks Daniel, i thoght this would be the case, & queried it with the guy in the show room(something & Chattel, at Nottm)but he said no they could'nt have the height of the bars raised, mind he also said he could'nt see what my problem was,as it was high enough anyway, but when you are a smurf, i suppose everything looks bigger....

Shame that, as there was a new 21"(ex showroom)one for sale via ebay for £530 down at Bracknell.

I would agree that the izy handle is a bit low and if i am

mowing all day I do get a bit of back ache. It is still a great mower though for the money. The problem I find with the auto choke is when the weather is cold and you are continually stop starting the choke gets a little confused, fine when its warm though.
