I blanked the EGR in my td5 & removed the cat - breathes lot easer & throttle responses are better. Sounds throaty as well...(although remap probably helps!)

Is this an easy enough job for a not so mechanically minded person? My 110 td5 pulls away pretty slowly even without trailer! It is one of those heavy ex utility company ones with the hd chassis and a mahoosive roof rack though...

130 300tdi chassis cab landy defender (waiting for me to build the body)

110 300tdi hicap landy defender

Ford ranger double cab 09 plate

The ranger is demoted to general run around and towing small trailer loads

The defenders are used to pull the hiab trailer or the other trailers when loaded to the max and the truck is loaded aswell

A poor device fitted at manufacture to improve the emissions. Very soon in service it starts to coke up and cause more emissions. It puts hot dirty exhaust fumes back into the engine just after the air filter. Decreases the life of the engine dramatically and soots the oil up within a few hundred miles of a change.

Agree entirely, best blanked off & as for DPFs diesel particulate filters - what a useless crock of **** they are.

Easy enough job but don't think you will feel that much difference. When people complain of sluggish pick up landrover did a software fix on the throttle. May also be worth getting the airflow metre checked out. A good service with air filter and fuel filter would be worth a try

Spot on, cheers for that I'll get some service parts ordered. Think it could do with an oil change as well...

Surprising what a good oil change does especially if it feels a bit gritty on the fingers. With fuel costing the same per litre as lube oil its worth changing at half intervals.
