I would love to focus on my own business but when I quote for work then every numbty under the sun who has a chain saw and thinks he can do the job for fifty pounds because they have a saw and a harness who they bought off some bloke and that looks easy that's when it pisses me off mate

So what? If someone takes it on for 50 quid let em get on with it, life's far too short to worry about losing jobs to numptys that can't price right.

These people do not stop you concentrating on your own business, you are doing that.

 

Over 20 years ago I was taught this lesson by a mentor.

 

I had spent some time whining to him that others were taking my work, he listened then pushed the phone book and phone over to me and made me spend the same amount of time that I had moaned looking for some work, within half an hour I had a string of contacts and some work.

To answer the question, my answer would be its right. There is no problem selling your old kit if you want to.

If somebody wants to buy second hand equipment that they don't know the history of and risk there life, that's up to them.

Personally I wouldn't.
