I have always been very happy with my Felco secateurs but what would people recommend as the best loppers on the market and what about anvil or bypass?

I've used Corona loppers for the past few years and found them to be best. I used them for hedgelaying and they gothrough some really thick wood. I prefer by pass type I get a cleaner cut and you dont seem to get the die back on plants like roses.

Bahco bypass, light and orange so I don't loose them!

Any thicker stuff is getting 150'd these days.

Anvil ones are best for dead wood IME.

i had a pair of corona bypass and very good the time they lasted 4 days. had a fault with them and dealer never restocked them. so went with a pair of sthil very good loppers but be good if they had the ratchet on them to aid cutting wood. felco looked at them but at £150 a pair there are as good loppers out there for less money. hedgelaying group bought a pair from Liddles for £10 best loppers i have used. need to get to a liddles to see if i can get a pair. had a huge anvil and blade and very well built never let them down and used a lot. but bypass is far better than the parrot beak ones do not work well

I've been using some spear and Jackson ones from Argos, about £26 anvil, extendable with ratchet. Gets through anything plus doesn't matter if break/ lose them at that price
