I use the rope grab on my side strop. One of the best things i have changed.

 

Advantages.

 

Never slips locks in solid, can take up slack easily with one hand

 

Disadvantages

 

You cant slacking off under load.

 

Thats about the only disadvantages i can think of. Well worth changing the prussic loop for. :001_cool:

Also great on sappy stuff as it won't jam.

Hitch, cinch or art positioner are preferable for me. They all can be released in a controlled fasion whilst under tension.

 

I'd like an art positioner one day do they work with steel core lines? As for a cinch nice bit of kit only i like my adjusters on the left as i'm right handed and this means the lever is the wrong way round.
