The saw looks good in the video, it will be interesting to see how it stands up in the field, but my Spudport 200 is going to be hard to beat.

As said, the manufacturers have to jump through hoops getting these things through the emissions tests, this affects the performance, & I suspect the quality of modern saws has dropped in recent years, driven by market forces.. the shareholders want more profit, & the consumer wants a cheaper saw.

Great vid, the 200 is not at its best and the husky is too new for it to be its best go at it.. that said it's the vid everyone wanted to see, would be nice to see a 201 and 540 go head to head.. to make it fair both saws should have a good number of tanks through.. looking like a level playing field..

Cheers fellas, good to see not everyone thinks it deserves a  and is a pointless waste of time:laugh1:

Just noticed there was a few questions, sorry for missing them:blushing:

So to quickly answer a few questions,

The vibes arent as bad as they look in the vid.

It is available now, if any dealers have them left that is!!

PS3 chain, yup need to get a reel of it in, well actually looking at getting the new PS3(cant remeber the code of the top of my head) which doesnt have the over the top safety depth gauges.

I dont have a new 201 to run against the 540, if I did I would have included it in the vid.:001_smile:

Maybe when the 540 has ran in a bit I will sort a vid out with a 201.

Been using it for the last two days and cant fault it, been using it in timber way over the bar size and it didnt miss a beat.

Lets just hope it is reliable!

I like most were sceptical at best about this saw after the 201's failings but have to admit your review has my quite excited.. can't wait to hear how it's doing at 3-4 months.. if it's still going strong I'll be visiting my dealer :D:thumbup:
