modding my a 201t

Urm.

 

SPUD. Just when we think we are getting somewhere this happens :001_rolleyes::001_rolleyes:

 

Ok. Here goes. By drilling holes in the exhaust you are ONLY letting the exhaust gasses escape quicker. Thos with a turbo car know what happens with it.

 

The burnt gasses are only getting out quicker making the exhaust clear quicker allowing the transfer of gasses out of the engine better, this will stop "bogging" of the engine, this "bogging down" is the exhaust not getting out fast enough and filling the exhaust casing up, therefore the engine must push the burnt gas out harder, meaning there is a blockage of exhaust.

 

Bit like reducing the m25 to single lane traffic in the middle of rush hour.

 

 

The intake is not effected so the same amount of air and fuel will still be going in and getting burnt. Unless you do some porting work to the intake.

 

If anything they have to be leaned up a bit due to the ventury effect on the carb and meaning it will pull more fuel up as the gasses move through the engine faster.

Sorry didn't make that bit clear did I. :lol:

 

I meant before the holes where drilled the exhaust is having trouble escaping and is more pushed out than allowed to travel. Just builds up a bit. The holes allow it to escape faster clearing the way for more.

 

Is that a better one. Spud I need your genius on a keyboard to type it up better :lol:

You can pay me big money if you want. I havnt seen a penny of anything else....... Oh wait I havnt had any money of anyone on here... Oh exept dave. :thumbup:

 

Yes you can. Just with anything check the plug colour (use a new one) or tach the saw up after the mod to ensure its all ok.

 

Surely there is a more tidy way of doing it r at her than just drilling holes?

 

The 200t mod looked good as it meant taking it apart and not just making holes.

Cheers, you engineer sorts, always looking for tidy solutions, 30 secs with a drill=more power, that's my sort of tuning!:001_smile:

Urm. I do remember something on the bench thread. But I'm not trawling through 400 pages to find it:lol:

If anyone strips there 201t exhaust apart can you post a picture of both halves up for me so I can see it.

 

I havnt had a 201t in my hands yet so don't actually know what's there. :thumbup:
