Hickory or Walnut? ID help

Hi folks. I'm a bit of a novice. I live in Italy and see the attached tree planted all over the show, but I can't work out if it is Hickory or Walnut...waddayafink??

Also, a bit of guidance on the key differences evident in the pics would be great

walnut and hickory friut does look sliyghtly similar at the erarly stage of development so it should be didregarded as a sole method of identification this is a similar affair with the leaves but the bark is a surefire way to tell them apart.

 

walnut is usualy quite pale and very distinct from other barks around it, basicaly what you photographed...

 

hickory should be slightly coarser (some species are very flakey) and darker in colour too.
