Re-blancing a poorly pruned Oak tree

Todays job. The original works was supposed to be a 30% overall crown reduction on this tpo'd Oak tree, however you can see quite clearly from the before photo that there was a substantial quantity of branches removed from one side of the tree and absolutely nothing removed from the other(more difficult side) overhanging the house and neighbouring gardens. The company I freelance to got second bite of the cherry after missing out on the original work...the spec basically to try and restore this tree somehow. The best course of action was mutually agreed to be a decent thin of the remaining crown, as well as a slight crown raise, and a reduction in the laterals on the opposite side of the crown to try and balance it as best possible. We also needed to pull the side in from the house as this was one of the main concerns originally. There were a few stubs left from the original pruning that I would have liked to have removed, but due to the lack of branches now left on that side, and the fact that the stubs were now shooting plenty of growth we decided to leave them with a view to thinning the regrowth in 5 years time to try and form some new branch structure.

Hopefully in future when the sparse side has a chance to recover, a further thinning on the right hand side of the tree will result in a reasonably even crown once again.
