that still doesn't tell us why its against the law, i'm not being funny woody but I would genuinely like to know why its an offence, cos if it is the case arbtalk is going to go quiet cos half of us will be locked up:001_smile:

It's utter crap that's why.

clearly with your expertize you should already know? (that you claim i cant afford:laugh1:) EA have already had prosecutions, but with you been an expert :confused1:

no doubt you will be telling us yet again about a pellet firm that got done:001_rolleyes:

Sorry Woody, but if you throw up such a comment, the reply above is insufficient. You need to back it up with documents or links. Otherwise you're scaremongering. Plus you have any number of people on here, who may be new to the business, spending (wasting) time online trying to find the info, or worse, ditching a business idea/plan they may have had.

So please back up your comment.

Cheers

Jim

And he won't, because its not, and he has nothing to back up his ludicrous first statement.

Seems to be a common theme here on my other thread he feels you can turn pallets into kindling and burn them in a domestic stove. Yet on here its against the law to cut up timber to sell as logs. I think you will find the country is keen to get the British back into work not discourage them.

contact sepa or read about it on arbtalk when a member is done:001_rolleyes:

but you know best:banghead:

I think you are getting confused by people using the term "arb waste".

Trees removed in arb operations are infact not waste, they are "virgin timber", even the EA have now accepted that.

Virgin timber can and should be used as fuel, to not do so would be very wasteful.

Truly waste timber, pallets and other timber that has already being used in construction etc, cannot be used as it has often been treated with chemicals or painted.

is he referring to infected trees? phytophera larch or else whats sepa???

arb "waste" is a term that i dont think anyone would accept. we all use the term arb arisings.

chip i believe heats up high enough to kill pathogens and as for timber i cant see a problem. can woody give us a definative quote where he is getting this info. he may have genuinely misread or misinterprited something hes read before we all jump down his throat.

lets just get some clarity before finger pointing from one side or another
