Firewood Business?

Hey guys,

I hear lots of things on the forums but I can't make out if it is worth doing a firewood business?

I mean buying in wood like 20t at a time processing blah blah

I sell small amounts in nets at the moment, but is it worth going bigger?

I'm not new to the game I've been doing Arb all my life, just don't know if the money is there for firewood.

Just some friendly advice needed here please

Friendly advice here, if you are thinking of going big, and have to buy in wood, your profit will be made only on how fast you can turn it over, half of what you charge on a load will be product cost. So the easier you make it to process and load the greater will be your profit will be. What ever you decide if its a career in fire wood, at the very best you will only ever make ends meet, No second home for you my friend in Miami , just a space next to me on the park bench. :001_smile: and defiantly no spare money despite what ever anyone else says. :thumbup1:

Depends on your area, how many people already flooding your area with cheap logs, how much people will pay for logs and how much you can get the cord for. I have given up because there are lots of people supplying at £60 a metre and the cord alone is now £35 a metre and thats before you start the processor or chain saw. Most businesses work on 100% mark up with out working the product.
