has anyone had a problems with the ht lead rubbing on the cooling fins and shorting it out ? i absolutly love the saw but what brains was behind the idea of resting the lead up against the fins , there is no space in there so the air filter cover pushes it so hard against it and wears the lead through , ive had to cut the corner of the fins off to solve the problem ?? any body else :confused1:

:scared1:Yes mate I have had one rip out a whole ht unit... Plus its managed to rattle out and mess up threads on most of its bolts, for the chain brake , dogs and side casing ... Due to a faulty on off switch i thought it has ripped it out for third time so I threw it out a tree and have now broken the crank casing ! Temper temper and all that but the saws been a bloody nightmare !

I know i dont really want to replace it as It's a good strong saw but you just have to watch the bolts on some saws.. Mine was a typical Friday saw, I know it only did it because of loose bolts.. But the bolts should not do that !! Any loose bolts put lock tight straight away!

Is it a dealer fix?

Make sure the bolts are done up straight away if they are loose... It's definitely worth keeping up on, make sure none of the plastic casing is broken around the fly wheel and it all goes back where it should be, spud did mine the second time and its been fine since.

I was only joking when I said you shouldn't throw your saws out of trees.....should have known better:lol::lol:

Think your issue was the recoil rope catching on the flywheel!

Yeah I remember now ! Why was it catching though? You may have to order a new starter housing jack as I did, that was how spud cured it.
