Was quite funny when we set up the Ltd Co my accounted asked how solid my marriage was and was I sure about putting the Co 50% in her name

 

I can see where he is coming from, my mate made his wife a 49% shareholder in his garage business...................there now split up and she drains it too hell and there's bugger all he can do.

Going back to Gordon, I think you need to make your mind up as too what direction you want too go in, Freelance climber/groundie or make your own business.

 

Its hard to do both well as per what's been said, I wouldn't have a freelancer turn up in his written van and clothing but as a business owner you need that, concentrate on one area and make it work for you.

No quite true, I'm Ltd and you only need one director and a co secetary......well that's all I have and Co house said it was fine!

Cheers IC trees, I'm gonna stay small and stick to freelance ground work, try and get climbing in when I can even if it is recreational.

 

The sign writing idea came from trying to get my name out there, as well as phoning round asking if they need me and possibly flyers, though if I'm targeting tree firms rather than home owners not sure where I'd drop flyers etc, maybe suppliers shops, but it's limited

you have made the decision then, now give it time! plenty of guys dont want the hassel of running there own firm and make good living as a freelancer.

 

Get your kit together and offer yourself out, start by putting a thread on here.

So, dont even think about Ltd. companies, registering a business name etc. all a million miles away.

 

you can reg a ltd co ,& keep it doramt ,till tou need it ,like if you think of a catchy bussiness name ,
