Value of leylandii?

You folk seem to think it isn't worth anything but three "travellers" were caught trying to steal one of ours.

I mean a growing one, about a foot diameter trunk.

They had half cut through it when my cousin came along, they ran off abandoning their chainsaw (which they did come back for and then started arguing the toss over whose tree it was.

There's no doubt whose tree it is and no doubt it was definitely not theirs.

Odd behaviour, they usually dump the stuff rather than steal it.

Where abouts was this ? Conifer gets put in with our mixed load of logs . Some customers even ask for it ? Ive burnt it and it burns fast and hot .

I burn almost exclusively leyland because I have an unlimited supply, never heard of trees being cut down before. I assume they were going to pinch the tree maybe they were testing their saw. Maybe they were going to drop it across the road Dick Turpin style. Not so far fetched either, they did similar near Chester this week.

I think its one of there latest schemes ...rolling around with logs on the back of there wagons offering there services and quality fire wood,have met quite a few people who have brought logs from are Irish tinker friends. all have been total shite and extortionately priced.. I was trying to keep a straight face when the landlord of a pub that had a smouldering hissing ceder logs on his fire was proudly announcing he had just beat them down from £150 to £90 and 3 pub breakfast for the logs.. The best bit was under what appeared to be logs was big hacked up rings that they had obviously given up on and buried under the cut rubbish on top.

Ive known them cut down a conifer out of a line,so they can nick someones forklift and drive it through the gap and out of the back of the yard.
